CRC Digital Lab

This is a place for educators to come and experiment with new and forthcoming educational technologies. Technology may be checked out to Washburn Faculty, Staff and Students. Community members may use the equipment in the library. There are multiple classroom applications for this equipment, as well as several uses for teacher professional development and digital portfolio creation. Come and take a look!

Multimedia Education

Multimedia education engages and challenges students with:

  • Creativity
  • Audio, kinetic, symbolic, visual, and linguistic communication skills
  • Information literacy
  • Subject/content development
  • Technological literacy

Lead Teach Learn is an excellent website and blog composed by Washburn Professor Dr. David Pownell which highlights applications for educational technology http://leadteachlearn.org/

CARES-ERF Grant

The CRC recently received a $50,000 grant from the CARES- Early Reading First  initiative in collaboration with Topeak Area Schools, the ERC Resource Center, The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library and the WU Department of Education. Through this grant, the CRC and our partners acquired many early childhood educational resources for both students and teachers. The CRC wishes to thank Dr. Sandy Tutwiler, WU's principal grant facilitator, Kristi Wilson, WU Grants Officer, and all the collaborating CARES-ERF partners for this wonderful opportunity!
