FAFSA & Verification

If your student filled out the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), he or she might be asked to go through a Verification process. The Verification process checks the accuracy of the information students provided when they applied for financial aid. There is no cause for alarm if your student was selected for Verification. Federal regulations require universities to carry out this process, so 1 out of 3 students who apply for financial aid will be asked to go through Verification.

If your student was selected for Verification, please ask them to contact Washburn’s Financial Aid Office as soon as possible at 785-670-1151 or at financialaid@washburn.edu.
