Encore, the library catalog, can be searched to find books, maps, journal titles, CDs, DVDs, and other material located in Mabee Library and 5 other libraries in the city of Topeka. The regular collections, known as the Mabee Stacks, are located on the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor houses current magazines, reference items, and our entertainment DVDs. Oversize, periodicals, and special collections are located on the 1st floor.

Mabee Library organizes the book collection using the Library of Congress Classification System, which is a combination of letters and numbers. Follow the link below to see the letters which are used for different subject areas.
Books not owned by Mabee Library may be borrowed from another library using a service called "interlibrary loan." This service is free to all Washburn students, faculty, and staff. Requests are usually available after 2-3 days for electronic items and one week for paper items. Follow the link below to sign up or sign in to your ILL account.
New editions of reference are located on the main level; older editions are available either in the stacks or in oversize.
