If the Mabee Library does not have access to a particular article or book, you may request a copy through Interlibrary Loan. This free service normally takes 2-3 days for journals and 2-7 days for books.
Books are generally not as current as journal articles, but they provide a more comprehensive coverage of a topic. They are good sources for background and historical information, or for information that is generally accepted in the field.
The library catalog can be searched to find books, maps, journal titles, CDs, DVDs, and other material located in Mabee Library and 5 other libraries in the city of Topeka.
Most books are located in the Mabee Stacks, which is located on the third floor. Oversize, paper periodicals, and special collection books are located on the first floor. Reference material can be found on the 2nd floor. Some reference and special collection items can't be circulated, but you may be able to scan pages to your email or USB device.
Mabee Library organizes the book collection using the Library of Congress Classification System, which is a combination of letters and numbers.
Most physical therapy materials are located in the call numbers RC, RD, RJ and RM.
